• Odd Projects (2019)

Over the years I've had many ideas, some odder than others. These are an assortment of projects that didn't quite warrant their own entry but were still worth including!

  • Blender Models

2019 was the year I learned Blender, and I got a lot of mileage out of it. These are several of the models I made.

    • a 3D render of a car in front of some houses.
    • a 3D render of a lightsaber.
    • a 3D render of a waterbottle and sunglasses.
    • a 3D render of an anglerfish person wearing gold foil pants and sunglasses.
    • a 3D render of a woman wearing a tank top, flannel, and shorts.
    • a 3D render of a terrifying orange bird with glowing purple eyes.

(Top Left to Bottom Right) Sedan, Lightsaber, Nalgene & Sunglasses, Anglerfish Person, Woman in Flannel, and Snerpin.

  • Over the Garden Wall Jack-O-Lantern

Over the Garden Wall is one of my favorite pieces of animation. I referenced a design from promotional art and made it into a jack-o-lantern!

  • Wingbike Paper Model

I made this model of a sci-fi vehicle and used it to test Blender's paper model feature, where a paper template can be exported, printed, and assembled in real life!

  • Sharkpocalypse

After learning some modeling in Blender, I decided to try working with the Blender Game Engine (RIP). I made a video game where the player shoots sharkmen with a harpoon gun.

I made some 2D game art for the "story" section as well as the cover, game over, and victory screens.

    • A scientist sits at a table and takes vitamin D
supplements. A caption reads, 'There was once and evil
scientist named Jan Soch, whose skin was very pale from
spending time indoors. So pale, in fact, he couldn't go
to the beach without getting severe sunburn.'
    • A man-shark lays strapped to an apparatus. A
caption reads, 'Jealous of all the people enjoying the
nice weather. he unleashed a terrible scourge upon the
sea, an evil hoard of half shark, half human beasts.
Maybe a little bit of manatee, too. No one's really
                    checked.'
    • A blue man inserts a syringe into a humpback whale
as he looks, confused, at a man-shark. A caption reads,
'Marine biologist Alex Pax was out at sea giving flu shots
to whales when suddenly one of the terrible fiends appeared.
Whipping out his trusty harpoon gun, he laid the foul
creature low, but ere he could adminster to another cetacean,
                    a whole crowd appeared.'
    • A blue man faces a horde of man-sharks, harpoon gun in
hand. A caption reads, 'Sending the whales away to safety,
he rushed in to face them alone in an epic tournament of
                    man vs shark...man'

    Game art for Sharkpocalypse

The game itself consisted of multiple levels which the player needed to clear of sharkmen to win. If the player took too much damage from the sharkmen, they would lose.

Sadly, the game and project files were corrupted. All that remains are screenshots and a playthrough video.
